Why Pump Concrete?

What are the key reasons for concrete pumping, and what are the benefits?

  • It reduces the level of resources needed to move materials around
  • The swift process will reduce lead time and increase productivity. Concrete pumps are able to place concrete a lot quicker than buckets or wheelbarrows
  • It allows for higher volumes to be pumped through
  • It removes the need for mixer trucks that might impact operations
  • It will improve on-site safety as workers will not be required to move concrete manually
  • It can help to reduce waste by accurately putting concrete exactly where it is needed

Cempump has fully trained and insured staff and can offer risk assessments.

Concrete Pumping and Concrete Pump Hire – The Process

Let’s look at the concrete pumping process. Our concrete pump truck will be parked in an accessible position. It is important that there is a space that allows safe access for all vehicles and equipment. Our team are at hand to advise on that.

The team lays pipes, and the concrete supplier positions their vehicle up to the pump. This will also require adequate space. Once the line is primed, the concrete is pumped through the pipework into position. Once pumping is complete, the lines will need to be emptied and washed out by the team, who will need access to a location where they can dispense water.

How Should I Prepare for Concrete Pumping?

To prepare for concrete pumping, you will need to:

  • Ensure there is enough space for all vehicles and no access restrictions. If you are unsure, contact our team for details.
  • Order and arrange delivery of all concrete needed and a bag of extra cement so we can prime the pipework. Let us know in advance if you want us to arrange this supply.
  • Efficient on-site waste disposal is essential to dispose of any waste after finishing the work.
  • You should also be able to make payment for the service before we leave the site.

Based in Denby, Derbyshire we have easy access to London and the Midlands. We predominantly work across the following areas: London, Birmingham, Chesterfield, Derby, Lincoln, Nottingham, Leicester. However, with our depots in Wales and Norfolk we can serve clients across the UK – contact us to check availability.
